Kill Bill star David Carradine found dead

David Carradine was found dead in a Bangkok hotel room June 3. Carradine was filming a movie in Thailand at the time and early indications that his death was a suicide.

David Carradine in Kill BillCarradine became appreciated by younger audiences for his portrayal of the title character in Quentin Taratino’s twin Kill Bill movies with Uma Thurman. But, Carradine’s start was decades prior.

He is most known for his starring turn in Kung Fu, the ‘70s TV classic. No stranger to martial arts, Carradine was typically cast in the upcoming years based on his Kung Fu popularity. Carradine never shied away from his Kung Fu success, even embracing it.

"I don't need to convince anybody that I know kung fu, but maybe somebody needs to know that I really can act, without doing a Chinese accent or a funny walk," he has said.

Carradine was found in the Bangkok hotel room with a rope around his neck by a maid. The 72-year-old legend failed to appear on set for breakfast June 2 and production members began to worry.

Carradine was part of an acting dynasty in Hollywood. His father was a character actor, John Carradine, while his brother Keith has become a star in his own right as well. David was married five times.

His manager Chuck Binder called the death "shocking and sad."
